Security Remediation Services
Security Remediation Services are for organizations that already know where their gaps are, whether from a CyberShield assessment, another firm’s assessment, an audit, a cyber-insurance questionnaire or a vulnerability scan, and need help fixing them. It’s a fit for healthcare practices and small to mid-sized businesses whose IT team or MSP is stretched thin, or who want an experienced security lead to plan and oversee the work. Remediation is scoped separately from assessments, and the work can be done by your IT team, your MSP, or CyberShield.
Includes:
- Remediation of findings from NIST, HIPAA, CIS, C2M2, and Microsoft 365 assessments, as well as vulnerability and network scans.
- MFA and Conditional Access implementation
- Email security hardening (phishing protection, SPF/DKIM/DMARC)
- Endpoint security deployment and configuration
- Vulnerability remediation coordination
- Secure baseline configuration across systems
Outcomes
- A prioritized remediation plan, highest-risk findings first
- A record of every change: what was changed, when, and by whom
- Confirmation that each fix works, with before-and-after evidence
- An updated risk register showing which findings are closed
- Evidence you can share with auditors, insurers and clients
- A short leadership summary of what’s fixed and what remains
What Our Security Remediation Services Fix
Most assessments surface the same handful of high-impact gaps. Our security remediation services close them in order of risk:
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA): extending MFA to every account, including admins and remote access, with phishing-resistant options where possible (see CISA’s guidance on MFA)
- Conditional Access: blocking legacy sign-in and setting sensible access rules in Microsoft Entra ID
- Email security: SPF, DKIM and DMARC, plus safer forwarding and attachment settings
- Endpoints: making sure every device is covered by endpoint protection and encryption
- Patching: a repeatable process for operating system and third-party updates, starting with the most exploited vulnerabilities
- Accounts and access: removing former employees, stale accounts and excess admin rights
- Backups: confirming backups are protected and that restores actually work
How Security Remediation Services Work
- Review the findings. We start from your assessment, audit or scan results and confirm what still applies.
- Plan and assign. Each item gets a priority, an owner (your IT team, your MSP, or CyberShield) and a target date.
- Fix and verify. Changes are made in a planned order, then checked to confirm the gap is actually closed.
- Document. You get a record of what changed, when and by whom, ready for leadership, auditors or your cyber insurer.
Why Use an Independent Security Lead?
When the same provider finds the gaps and grades its own fixes, problems can slip through. Our security remediation services keep the plan tied to the original findings and check each fix, whether the hands-on work is done by your team, your MSP or CyberShield. You never have to use CyberShield for remediation to get an assessment from us.
Security Remediation Services: Common Questions
Do we need a CyberShield assessment first? No. We can work from another firm’s assessment, an audit report, a cyber insurance questionnaire or recent vulnerability scan results, as long as the findings are current.
Will remediation disrupt our staff? Changes are planned and scheduled with you in advance. Higher-impact changes, such as turning on MFA for everyone, are rolled out in stages with clear instructions for your users.
Can our MSP do the work? Yes. Many organizations keep their MSP for the hands-on changes and use CyberShield to plan the work, set priorities and confirm each gap is closed.
How is it priced? Every engagement is scoped and priced in writing before work starts, so there are no surprise invoices. Remediation is always scoped separately from assessments.
