Cloud Security & Compliance

As organizations move to the cloud, security risks evolve. Misconfigurations, poor access controls, and lack of visibility can expose critical systems and data.
CyberShield Advisory helps organizations secure their cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), while maintaining compliance.

For most organizations, the place to start is a Microsoft 365 security assessment: an independent review of Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, Defender and email security that shows exactly where you stand.

The Problem

Moving to Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS doesn’t move security responsibility to the provider. The provider secures the platform; you’re responsible for how it’s configured and who can access it. Common gaps we see:

  • Admin accounts without MFA, or with more access than they need
  • Files, storage or SharePoint/OneDrive sites accidentally shared publicly
  • Logging and alerts turned off, so suspicious activity goes unnoticed
  • Default settings never hardened after setup
  • No clear view of which cloud services hold sensitive or regulated data

What You Get

  • Cloud security assessments
  • Architecture review
  • Identity and access control analysis
  • Compliance alignment

Our Role

We act as your independent security advisor. We assess your cloud configuration, explain the risks in plain English, prioritize the fixes and work alongside your IT team or MSP to put them in place. We don’t replace your IT provider.

Approach

We align cloud security to industry frameworks and best practices to strengthen protection and support your compliance program.

What Makes Us Different

  • Hands-on experience securing Microsoft 365 and Azure (Entra ID, Defender, Intune, Purview) as well as AWS environments
  • Findings mapped to recognized frameworks (NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls v8.1, the HIPAA Security Rule and C2M2), so every gap ties back to a requirement
  • Plain-English reports with a prioritized roadmap, not a raw list of findings
  • Led by Harris Ejiofor, CISM, with 15+ years in IT and 8+ years in information security
  • Remediation scoped separately, so you choose who does the work

Outcomes

  • Secure cloud environments
  • Reduced misconfiguration risks
  • Improved compliance posture

What Our Microsoft 365 Security Assessment Covers

Most small and mid-sized organizations run their email, files and identities on Microsoft 365, and many of its most important security settings have to be configured deliberately. A Microsoft 365 security assessment from CyberShield Advisory LLC reviews your tenant against Microsoft security baselines, NIST CSF 2.0 and CIS Controls v8.1, then ranks each finding by risk.

  • Identity and access: Entra ID users, admin roles, guest accounts, and stale or shared accounts
  • MFA and Conditional Access: which accounts are covered, which are excluded, and whether legacy sign-in is still allowed (see Microsoft’s Conditional Access overview)
  • Email security: Exchange Online protection, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and external forwarding rules
  • Threat protection: Microsoft Defender policies, alerts and Secure Score
  • Data protection: SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams sharing settings, plus Purview retention and data loss prevention
  • Devices: Intune enrollment and compliance policies, where licensed

What You Receive

Every Microsoft 365 security assessment ends with a written report your leadership and your IT team can both use:

  • An executive summary in plain English
  • A prioritized list of findings, with the setting to change and why it matters
  • A mapping of each finding to HIPAA, NIST CSF 2.0 and CIS Controls v8.1 where they apply
  • A phased roadmap with an owner for every item: your IT team, your MSP, or CyberShield

Remediation is always scoped separately, so you’re never locked in.

Who Needs a Microsoft 365 Security Assessment?

A Microsoft 365 security assessment is a good fit if you store patient or client data in Microsoft 365, if your tenant has never had an independent review, if your cyber insurance questionnaire asks about MFA and email security, or if you recently moved off on-premises email or file servers. Healthcare practices also use it as part of the risk analysis the HIPAA Security Rule requires.
